Rates and charges are easy and difficult at the same time. I'll be as clear as possible. If you can tell me in detail exactly what you want I can tell you exactly what it will cost.

Be sure to check and compare, you'll find my rates very reasonable considering my experience, skills, and quality of work. I know my fees are neither the highest nor the lowest. My claim is that I offer the best value for your dollars.

Here's the easy part:

bulletCharges include both fees and hourly rates.
bulletBase rate is $50 per hour.
bulletSome work may be fee based, like logos.
bulletRetainer rates are available and decrease by $2.50 per hour for each hour retained per week on an annual basis, stopping at $35 per hour.
bulletCommissions vary according to vendors and adhere to industry standards.
bulletWebsites may be charged hourly or by fee, your choice. However, you will get more for less by the hour. For instance, the going rate for adding a graphic to a website is $25. I can put 10 graphics on a site in an hour, you save $200.
bulletI offer the best printing rates going, domestic or foreign. Print is an area in which a novice can pay way too much and actually get less. Do not try this at home by yourself!

Here's the hard part:

bulletI'm often asked how much is a website. The answer can come only after many questions. It is like asking how much is a house. How big, where, what quality, etc.
bulletThe same applies to brochures, illustrations, photography, and other areas.
bulletWebsites for instance have disparate areas of responsibility; design, production, maintenance, positioning, linking, promoting, and changing. How many of these areas do you want and/or need?

In general it is not just how much you pay but what do you get for what you pay = value. There are some areas you do not want to pay too little and end up with a poor product, tires, brakes, medicine, and advertising. Bad promotional materials will harm your business. You would do better to do nothing.

Be sure your materials will look good and be appropriate. Ask for references, samples, and evidence such as awards.
